Dan Clemmett (b. 1977 )
Dan Clemmet graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Cross University, Australia in 2000. The following year he won the East Coast Sculpture show in Ballina, New South Wales, a prize he went on to win again in 2004 and 2007.
Clemmett was selected as the Montgomery Sculpture Trust Artist in Residence for 2002 after his work was seen at Thursday Plantation in New South Wales. Clemmett was the first non-European artist to be selected as Artist in Residence by the Montgomery Sculpture Trust and his piece Bonnet Spheres was so well recieved that he returned to complete another Residency at the Trust in 2008. The result was Ammonite II that has now joined the Jerwood Sculpture Collection at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire.
He has carried out commissions for Thursday Plantation Sculpture Walk in Ballina, New South Wales, St Aidan's Church, Little Chalfont, Buckinhamshire and Gold Cost City Council Collection in Queensalnd. Clemmett's work can also be found in private collections in his native Australia as well as in Japan, USA, Monaco and New Zealand.
